An executive summary is provided for Virginia's annual report on crime and the justice system, which supplies data on the assessment of crime and justice and existing system efforts, impacts, and problems.
Abstract
In assessing crime and justice, data are provided on crime trends, offender processing, victims of violent crime, and the Virginia juvenile justice system. In the area of system efforts, impacts, gaps, and problems, the topics treated are crime prevention, law enforcement, adjudication, adult corrections, juvenile justice and delinquency prevention, domestic violence, and substance abuse. Recommendations are proposed for dealing with problems in the aforementioned areas during 1981-1983. Limited tabular data are provided.
