Steps in the fashioning of the program are described, and the core curriculum is outlined. The program is divided into three concentrations: adult offender services, juvenile services, and law enforcement. Also discussed are the internship program, the development of the criminal justice library, and cooperative agreements regarding televised courses. Program achievements are reviewed in terms of personnel trained, programs initiated, and goals fulfilled. The program evaluation is reported, covering the human resources philosophy, translation of philosophy to the core curriculum, the final advisory board review, and a student evaluation and faculty review. Factors contributing to program strengths include strong student interest, the generic course structure, and well-defined cooperative internship procedures. Among concerns expressed by the faculty are insufficient course content about minority groups and lack of course work dealing with group dynamics and processes. Future directions are discussed in the areas of student courseload, curriculum revision, and graduate level articulation.
