Abstract
The board consists of five members appointed by the governor and confirmed by the State senate for staggered 5-year terms. The report describes the board's responsibilities, board history, and resumes of board members. Board responsibilities cover various types of parole, types of executive clemency for which the board makes recommendations to the governor, parole revocations, absolute discharge, and other hearings. Board processes are outlined and guidelines for board decisions are delineated. During the 1979-80 year, the board heard 1,575 cases. In addition, more than 400 individuals who had been certified eligible to be heard refused a hearing for various reasons. Other board activities and projected plans for 1980-81 are described. Tables are included.
