Belgian criminal statistics on convicted offenders and offenses are presented for 1973.
Abstract
Extensive statistical tables show number of convicted individuals by sex, the nature of the offense, and previous criminal record; number of convictions by civil status and family situation; number of convictions by profession and social status of the convicted individual; and convictions by age and sex of the convict and by the nature of the offense. Further tables indicate the geographical distribution of convicted individuals by the judicial district in which they committed their crimes; general and special recidivism rates, and rates of alcohol abuse among convicted offenders. Tables relating to offenses list the number of individual offenses tried by size of community; the number of offenses committed in Belgium in a determinate and in an indeterminate place and those committed abroad; and number of various types of drunkenness offenses committed.
