Samples of instruments from which test sites could choose for their participation in the experiment of the Presentence Investigation Report task force are provided, along with information on the purpose of each form and how to complete it.
Abstract
The task force developed and endorsed the package of instruments for a 9-month testing period at nine adult probation departments. Each test jurisdiction had the option of selecting which instruments to use. The forms were created to be used as the individual probation officer finds most appropriate. The package of instruments contains an information sheet, and information sheet in Spanish, a uniform cover sheet, an abbreviated format, an alcohol-related offense format, a standard format, a comprehensive format, a uniform worksheet, problem areas - optional form, assessment of probationer needs - optional form, assessment of probationer risks - optional form, and sentence guideline - optional form.
