Abstract
General data on adjudicated and sentenced criminal and juvenile justice cases show the offense, type of decisions, and offender age. Adjudications are listed according to major offense category and treatment and oversight measures; sentences by major offense category and sentencing provisions. Data is given on adjudicated and other persons held in detention in 1980. Tabulations on cases adjudicated and sentenced in criminal courts show major offense categories and type of decision. Also listed are sentenced cases by offense and penalty, along with the number and amount of fines. Other tables note numbers of those previously sentenced and those warned with suspended sentences. Juvenile justice data list sentenced cases by general offense category, by specific crime type, by type of decision, and by sentence. General crime types are tabulated by the correctional and educational measures decreed. The concluding table shows juveniles by crime category and previous sentence. Appended is a listing of all offenses prosecuted in 1980 and a chart of the West German population groups by age and sex who may be prosecuted under the law. The volume is composed of tabular material.
