LEADR is a four-page computer-based analysis of Cattell's 16 Personality Factor Questionnaire (16PF), which measures the normal adult personality. LEADR is based on more than 30 years of research underlying the PF. Numerous analyses of independent samples consisting of more than 2,000 police officers show that LEADR score dimensions are satisfactorily reliable. LEADR provides a basis for conducting oral interviews and determining training and development needs. The performance dimension assesses functional skills related to performance outcomes and comparisons of candidates' skills; the emotional maturity dimension identifies ability to handle stress, emotional stability, and self-reliance; the integrity/control dimension evaluates moral awareness, dependability, and responsibility; the intellectual efficiency dimension describes judgmental and problem-solving ability; and the interpersonal relations dimension measures ability to relate to co-workers and the public.
