The paper reviews the status and scope of Criminology in the Indian context and focuses attention on the centres where courses on Criminology are available, highlights the factors affecting its growth, provides an overall contextual development of this discipline and analyses yearwise growth of Criminology in allied disciplines, teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, growth in terms of papers, factors affecting growth with allied disciplines and syllabi on Criminology.
