This document is a collection of descriptions of current criminological research projects being conducted in member States of the Council of Europe.
Abstract
Research projects are presented in alphabetical order according to participating country. Entries include title of the research, summary account of the research, name and address of the university or individual undertaking the project, contact for further information, sponsoring organization, cooperating organization, source of financial support, starting date, expected completion date, related publications, and name and title of person supplying information for the description. For reference purposes, each project is given a serial number. Indexes list research projects according to subject, type of research, and country; each entry refers to projects by serial number. Contributing countries include Austria, the Federal Republic of Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, and Sweden. Projects described focus on such topics as the education of women in prison, recidivism in relation to the amount and persistence of previous criminality, and mental abnormality in arrest and prosecution. Indexes are provided, and some of the projects are described in French.
