Abstract
General studies under the crime classification include those pertaining to criminal activity and organized crime, rape, battered women, child abuse, arson and extortion, and computer crimes. Also under crime are publications on juvenile delinquency and statistical information. The criminal justice section includes general studies covering the system, politics and government, planning and funding, training, and crime victim's compensation. Other categories under the criminal justice system encompass law enforcement (Chicago Police Department, traffic enforcement, police community relations, etc.), the judicial system (rules and procedures, criminal courts, the juvenile court, bail and legal defense services), sentencing (probation and sentencing policies and parole), and corrections (State institutions, county institutions, community services). The documents date from the early 1920's to about 1979. Availability information is provided.
