Abstract
The program was established in 1967 to assist crime victims by providing compensation for victims of certain crimes or dependents of deceased victims and for indemnification of private citizens for personal injury or property damage suffered in the prevention of crime or apprehension of a criminal. For this reporting period, the commission received 441 new applications from victims for compensation and disposed of 309 of them. Details of the number of applications and orders are summarized in tabular form, along with a breakdown of the commission's decisions by types of crimes. Other tables present data on the average award and payments by collateral source. Detailed statistics are appended.
