The report discusses the purpose, influence, and projects conducted by the Canada Law Reform Commission during 1980-81.
Abstract
The Commission's mandate is to study and keep under review Canada's Federal laws with a view to making recommendations for their improvement, modernization, and reform. The Commission submitted a report to Parliament on criteria for the determination of death and continued work on several projects involving administrative law, criminal law, and protection of life. Its influence on the shaping of laws in Canada is evidenced by the introduction of legislative bills in Parliament involving access to information and privacy, sexual offenses, and young offenders. A list of Commission reports and publications and other information are appended. A French language version of the report is included.
