The report presents case processing statistics for the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court (Virginia) during fiscal year 1981.
Abstract
During 1981, the court was one of seven county agencies to participate in a pilot project of developing a management by objectives system. Considerable efforts were invested in formulating mission statements, general and performance objectives, and a workplan to guide managerial and line activity. A chart displays the mission statements adopted for the agency as a whole, for each area, for each area of major functional responsibility, and for each division. Tables present data on juvenile case processing; on the Hearing Officer Program, begun in 1970 to hear minor cases; and on juvenile detention and adjudication. A description of the following specialized services (developed to enhance court intervention) is included: diagnostic services, work programs, education programs, the family counseling program, volunteer program, special placements, and residential services. Adult case processing statistics and graphs are included.
