Highlights included efforts to mobilize community support for a protest of the building of a maximum-security institution in a remote location and a call for the abolition of mandatory supervision. Other activities were the revision and expansion of the society's position on pardons and formation of a subcommittee to find new funding sources and to reduce the society's dependence on government contracts.
