Abstract
Historical offense tables which include sentence information for defendants convicted of fraud, embezzlement, rape, and antitrust violations for the years 1970 through 1980 are provided. Finally, statistical data by district court are included. Statistics reveal that there were 36,560 criminal defendants disposed of in the district courts in 1980. Of these, 78.2 percent were convicted and sentenced. The criminal caseload in the courts continued the downward trend that began in 1978; the total number of cases filed in 1980 totaled 28,921, 11.5 percent less than the previous year. Defendant data tables are appended.
