Abstract
New Pride in Haddonfield, N.J., targets unemployed and out-of-school youths and provides them with job training/placement and assistance in completing high school. This project is searching for a proper facility and additional staff. The Pensacola, Fla., New Pride will serve learning disabled juvenile offenders, including multiple offenders, and the Providence, R.I., New Pride is beginning to hire staff members after the purchase of a $6 million facility. Implementation and staffing are ongoing at the Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago New Pride projects. During a question and answer session, participants discuss administrative, funding, and staffing issues.
