This report describes the cases handled by the New York State Departments of Law Division of Public Advocacy, Division of Appeals and Opinions, Division of State Counsel, and regional offices.
Abstract
The Division of Public Advocacy addressed issues such as antimonopolies, civil rights, consumer frauds, and real estate financing. The Division of State Counsel was involved with mental hygiene, employment security, and other cases, and regional offices throughout the State conducted a variety of investigations. The Division of Appeals and Opinions handled significant constitutional litigation. The report also describes the reorganization of the department and includes a financial report and some data tables.
