Data on yearend populations include distributions by sex, race, and ethnicity. Data on population movement include detail on type of entry to parole (via paroling authority decision or via mandatory conditional release) and on type of exit (discharge, return to prison, or death). Drawing on previously published data from Uniform Parole Reports and other criminal justice statistics programs, the report also presents material on longer-term trends, on the context of parole, and on the composition and functions of paroling authorities.
