Data on yearend populations include distributions by sex, race, ethnicity, felony/misdemeanor, and convicted/unconvicted status. Data on population movement include details on type of entry to probation (directly from court or following a period of incarceration) and on type of exit (discharge, revocation, or death). Drawing on previously published data from National Probation Reports and other criminal justice statistics programs, the report also presents a discussion of longer-term trends and of the context of probation.
