NCJ Number
87454
Date Published
1982
Length
20 pages

This report explains Alabama parole board procedures and presents probation and parole statistics during 1981-82.
Abstract
Prisoners must complete one-third of their term or 10 years (whichever is less) before being considered for parole. This time may be reduced by applying Incentive Good Time credit. Prisoners serving sentences of 10 years or more and who are potentially violent will not be considered until they have served one-half of their term or 15 years (whichever is less). The report also discusses interstate cases and the department's history. It shows the number of State inmates paroled and revoked by counties and the number of probations granted and revoked by counties along with other information.
