Abstract
Extracts were taken from American, British, and Canadian publications. Most extracts address specific investigations of homicide, accidental death, suicide, assault, bombings, arson, sex offenses, robbery, hit-and-run incidents, drug abuse, burglary and housebreaking, larcenies, fraud, and computer-related crimes. Investigative procedures such as hypnosis, use of tracking dogs, and sting operations are also covered. Excerpts of documents describe experiences in identifying and apprehending suspects. Forensic techniques for examining physical evidence are also described. A subject index is keyed to the consecutively numbered parapraphs.
