This directory describes 199 programs, under 27 Government departments and independent agencies, to help correctional administrators find sources for assistance.
Abstract
The alphabetical listings encompass 15 categories of financial assistance, from project grants, insurance, and direct loans to counseling, training, and other specialized services. Each program description covers types of financial assistance offered, the manner of dissemination (i.e., Federal Government to applicant), eligibility criteria, resources available, fees/applicant costs, and the range of assistance. Each entry cites relevant publications, methods of announcing program services or funding, and steps necessary to initiate the application process. Contact persons and regional office addresses are also noted. The directory includes a program index, a functional index (using categories to which each program is assigned), a subject index, and a glossary. Included among the appendixes are a list of Federal Information Centers and a resource list.
