The treatment program for incarcerated rapists, child molesters, and incest offenders committed to Florida State Hospital has a multimodal approach that is necessary, given the range of possible cures and causes for each dysfunction.
Abstract
Multimodal therapy ranges from insight-oriented and behavior therapies to classes on small engine repair. Treatment modalities are aimed at establishing preconditions for effective treament, reducing substance abuse, encouraging conformity to appropriate social norms, reducing arousal to inappropriate themes, enhancing personal adjustment, and increasing social skills. A list of treatment modalities and objectives is included. Eight references are provided. (Author abstract modified)
