The thesaurus contains listings of descriptors or terms used to index the literature in the National Institute of Justice/NCJRS document data base and to retrieve information about the literature for users of the service.
Abstract
Most terms include scope notes, which explain the specific use of a term in the NCJRS system. Organizational and geographic descriptors are included in separate sections. A Key-Word-Out-of-Context (KWOC) list is appended, which lists the significant words of all thesaurus terms alphabetically, followed by a listing of the terms containing that word.
