The detection of petrolatum based lubricants on evidence submissions from rapes and forcible sodomies and their extraction and comparison with standards can help to substantiate the victim's allegation.
Abstract
Sixteen commercial products having a petrolatum base were uniquely distinguished by the combination of gas-liquid chromatography and a synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy, and as little as 0.5 mg of product could be identified. (Author abstract)
