In 1979, 5,794 juveniles between 12 and 17 years of age were convicted of misdemeanors in the Netherlands, representing a decrease from the 1978 total of 6,049. Suspected but not prosecuted misdemeanants numbered 12,851.
Abstract
Tables report statistics on convicted and suspected misdemeanants in terms of offense, location, and offender characteristics (sex, age, and previous record). Also included are statistics on juveniles convicted and suspected of public nuisance and traffic offenses. Sentencing data are given on penalties for misdemeanors (incarceration, reform school, detention, and probation) as well as on penalties in the lesser offense category. The bulk of the documents consists of tables.
