The month's statistics of reported crimes are tabulated in terms of investigated and nonindictable cases by Province, according to groups of municipalities, and by the nature of the crime. Cases recorded by the criminal police, the Royal Marechaussee, and the State and municipal police are reported separately. Also repored are data on persons in custody for the first half of 1982; judicial statistics of the ordinary, military, and district courts; and economic offenses for the first three quarters of 1982. Additional statistics are provided on prison population, petitions for asylum, judicial child protection, bankruptcies, and fires. Most of the document is in tabular form.
