Criminal Convictions in Switzerland

NCJ Number
88767
Date Published
1982
Length
82 pages
Annotation
Based on records of the central police register, tabulations show criminal convictions of both juvenile and adult offenders in Switzerland during 1980.
Abstract
Tabulations are presented in three major categories: total adult (aged 18 and over) convictions, regardless of sentence severity; adults convicted and sentenced to incarceration or fines of at least 200 Swiss francs; and juveniles (aged 15 to 18) convicted and sentenced to some type of correctional measure. Individual tables offer data on convictions by jurisdiction, offender age and sex, offense type, offender residence, and nationality. The juvenile statistics are given in terms of suspended sentence, probation, and correctional measures as well as offense types and jurisdictions. Convictions by military courts are also noted. The document consists mainly of tabular data.
