The crime rate, measured in total incidents per 100,000 persons, decreased by 3.6 percent. The overall number of reported crimes increased only 1.6 percent over 1980, representing the lowest increase in 4 years. Tables break down Florida offense data according to Index offenses, crime and clearance rates, value of property stolen and recovered, and county and community offense data. Florida arrest statistics cover violent and nonviolent crimes, a sex and race analysis, juvenile arrests, county and community arrests, narcotic arrests, and other information. Other statistics cover narcotic drug seizures and agricultural crimes. Law enforcement personnel data are included. A glossary and an index are provided.
