Abstract
Correctional expenditures totaled $976 million and the inmate population numbered 24,400 during the year. The community supervision caseload totaled 73,000. While 75 percent of the total correctional caseload were under some form of community supervision, only 8 percent of total correctional expenditures were for the provision of these services. Tables, graphs, and maps illustrate inmate/offender caseloads and characteristics, reasons for admission, sentence lengths, and number, distribution, and capacity of correctional facilities. Per capita and per diem inmate costs are also tabulated. Appendixes include demographic data, additional statistical tables, footnotes, a glossary, and a list of contacts.
