The number of felons in Hawaii continues to increase, averaging a 15-percent growth rate per year since 1974-75.
Abstract
In 1981-82, the growth rate increased 22 percent over the previous year. The average time served for released felons rose from an average of 30.2 months in 1975-76 to 52.2 months in 1981-82. The report presents data in tabular and graphic form on admissions and releases, time served, average sentence, and offender demographic characteristics. Detailed statistical tables are appended, along with an offense listing.
