This report profiles inmates held in each Virginia State correctional facility by category (major institutions, field units, or work release) for each of the five administrative regions as of June 30, 1982.
Abstract
Data are given on inmates' race and age, custody and offense type, average time in confinement and term of sentence, tested grade and intelligence levels, prior convictions, region of committing court, and parole eligibility. The number of life, death, and indeterminate sentences are also shown. The appendix lists corrections institutions and courts by region and includes inmate population data. A brief summary narrative is also provided.
