In 1982, Texas experienced one major crime every 33 seconds. The most frequent crimes were aggravated assault, robbery, theft, and burglary.
Abstract
The report presents data submitted in 1982 to the Texas Department of Public Safety Uniform Crime Reporting Bureau by 755 Texas law enforcement agencies. Tables give statistics on urban and rural crime, State totals by type of offense, offenses by cities' and counties' population size, campus crime, and specific offenses (arson, forcible rape, fraud, etc.). Totals for each crime by police departments reporting the offenses are also listed.
