This videotape provides instruction in differentiating between the cause and manner of death as a result of asphyxial and identifying and correlating the six commonly seen forms of asphyxia, death and the five mechanisms that cause asphyxia.
Abstract
It also describes the autopsy findings that may be present in each form of asphyxial death and the hallmarks of an asphyxial death that may be related to autoerotic sexual practices. Specifically dealt with are characteristics of the following: hanging, ligature strangulation, manual strangulation, smothering, choking, cafe coronary, crush or traumatic asphyxia, asphyxiating gases, and sex-related asphyxial death. A study guide is also provided.
