Abstract
Law enforcement agencies cleared 27 percent of all Index crimes in 1981. Index offenses reported in 1981 declined 2.4 percent from the previous year. Tables and graphs present data on crime rates, Index crimes, stolen and recovered property values, clearance rates, arrests, police employment, and law enforcement officers killed or assaulted.
