A total of 20 articles are divided topically into 6 sections. Section themes concern the significance of research in criminology; theoretical and methodological problems of social science research; and studies in corrections, crime prevention, parole and probation; and future objectives of criminology research. Articles in the first section describe the work at the Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony, the relationship of research and policy, the relationship of theory and practice, and government-sponsored research institutions. Correctional issues discussed include several resocialization therapy models for adults and juveniles at particular West German institutions and the role of evaluation in future correctional development. Prevention topics describe Dutch research on vandalism and school as an arena of crime prevention programing. Articles on probation and parole studies also concern projects in the Netherlands as well as various aspects of evaluation of the probation/parole services. Individual articles contain tabular data and bibliographies. An index is provided.
