Annotation
The aftermath of a rape resulting from a young woman hitchhiking is vividly portrayed in this film for students.
Abstract
The physical and psychological trauma she experiences illustrates her naivete in trusting strangers to the point of accepting rides. Although she had hitchhiked many times before without being hurt, she realizes after the rape occurs that she never should have taken these chances. After getting help from a couple living near the rape scene, she is accompanied by police to a hospital for an examination in which the doctor uses a rape evidence kit to collect needed specimens. She then is asked to go to the police station to give a taped statement.
