The analysis examined statistical data on criminality, published by the Central Institute of Statistics, to pinpoint the relations existing between the crimes denounced and the place where they occurred. The data were analyzed according to the type of municipality and the respective classes of population.
Abstract
The analysis shows that the crimes take place in the chief town of the province at a rate that is nearly twice the weight of their population; but the various classes of crime, the groups, and the single crimes are concentrated in a different manner in the municipalities, sometimes showing a distribution almost according to the amount of the population (as in the cases of crimes against persons). Tables and footnotes are included. (Author summary modified)
