Ever since the Liberation, the number of recidivists in Slovenia has been nearly twice as much as in other federal republics.
Abstract
Empirical research has shown that this difference results chiefly from the system of recording offenders, which varies from one republic to another. In addition, there are differences among republics regarding the consistency of the courts in seeking information about the offenders' previous convictions. Tables, eight footnotes, and seven references are provided. (Author abstract modified)
