Abstract
There were 1,096 noncompliances with the Illinois County Jail Standards, and 519 recommendations to improve jail operations. Population data shows those in the sentenced category and the bed capacity of county jails. There were 259 noncompliances with the Municipal Jail and Lockup Standards, and 239 recommendations were offered to improve these jail operations. Inspections of 13 independent county juvenile detention facilities (not part of county jail operations) yielded 118 noncompliances. There were 11,343 juveniles held in the 13 county detention centers; 58 county jails processed 1,928 juveniles; and municipal jails processed 5,362 juveniles during the reporting period. Tabular data comprise the document.
