This 1982 annual report presents data on the age, race, sex, offense, intelligence, education, and background of felons committed and confined in the Virginia State correctional system, with separate consideration given to felon recidivists.
Abstract
Background information on the offenders includes military service according to race and sex, parole or pardon status according to race and sex, religious preference by race and sex, status of parents, marital status, juvenile record, sentence, and drug and alcohol habits (all information provided by race and sex). Data are also provided for the period 1973-82 (fiscal years). For felon recidivists, data are provided on all previous felony sentences served according to race and sex.
