The data presented in this 1981 report cover the number of assaults on Federal officers, weapons used, assaults by region, extent of injury, and characteristics of victims and known assailants.
Abstract
The monthly variation in assaults from the annual average is noted for 1980-81, and weapons used in assaults are indicated by Federal department. Information on weapons and the number of assaults is provided for the period 1977-81. Activity of the officer when the assault occurred is noted, and finally, data by region and State are provided for the Federal departments of Interior, Justice, and Treasury as well as the judicial branch and the U.S. Postal Service.
