In 1982, the New Orleans Police Department received over 400,000 calls for service. Reported major crime was down 4.9 percent, and arrests were up 8.5 percent.
Abstract
A total of 89 new Neighborhood Watch groups formed during the year. Information is presented on crime in the community, community and system response, arrest, prosecution, adjudication, and corrections. Resources, workload, case flow, and interfaces are noted under each appropriate section. Under prosecution, for instance, resources and workload are noted for the district attorney and the city attorney. Comparative data tables and a map are appended.
