Abstract
Criminology, however, has chosen to largely ignore white-collar and high-level criminality and to instead focus upon street crimes. Such a criminological perspective is legitimating of the governmental power structures and is ignorant of the massive and pervasive nature of crime in high places. This paper seeks to explicate some of the germane aspects of high-level criminality and to identify the crucial role that criminology must play in the study of such crimes. About 155 references are supplied. (Author abstract modified)
