This publication summarizes and combines data pertaining to California's criminal justice system. The statewide profile consists of two sections: the first displays annual criminal justice data in tabular form from 1973 through 1982; the second section contains reference tables displaying selected data for 1982.
Abstract
Trend data in the profile derive from State and local agency reports to the Bureau of Criminal Statistics. Individual county or statewide totals for selected criminal justice activities are provided in tabular form. Tables are also provided on crimes, arrests, processes, personnel expenditures, and correctional actions. The individual reference tables in the second section cover data for 1982 on crimes reported, adult and juvenile arrests, prosecution, and adult and juvenile probation. The bulk of the document comprises tabular material.
