The report identifies a number of intervention techniques that could be used in correctional programs to foster offenders' cognitive development.
Abstract
Some of the techniques have been incorporated in previous programs with offenders, in which case the applications are described and available evidence of the program's effects are noted. Other techniques have seldom been used in corrections although they appear promising. In this case, the advantages and disadvantages of these techniques for corrections are discussed, and suggestions are made as to how they might be best modified to suit offender clients and/or correctional settings. A total of about 155 references are included.
