The number of reported Part I major crimes in Nassau County, N.Y., decreased 9.8 percent from 1981 to 1982 and was the lowest since 1975.
Abstract
Reported burglaries decreased 21.6 percent and robberies 7.5 percent from 1981 to 1982. Clearance rates have increased for the crimes of robbery, assault, and larceny, while remaining constant for burglary. The overall number of persons arrested increased by 4.3 percent, and the number of persons arrested over age 25 increased by 13.4 percent. One map and data tables comprise the report.
