One paper outlines a classification of human sexual behavior which allows consideration of sexual aggressiveness. Sexual offenders' characteristics are described, including psychological factors that may influence their sexual behavior. Another discussion reviews the assumptions underlying the available assessment/treatment programs for rapists and child molesters and outlines how the court might evaluate the validity of expert testimony in order to reach an informed decision about the psychological treatment of sex offenders. A description of various assessment techniques that have been applied to sex offenders looks at those useful in planning and evaluating treatment programs and in predicting recidivism. An analysis of the assessment and treatment of sexual offenders considers the offenders' social incompetence and deviant sexuality. Two final papers examine sexual aggression and the law, and ethics and dilemmas in the treatment of sex offenders.
