The text outlines basic security concepts for protecting the perimeter and interiors of buildings and systems for use within working hours. It then explains space detectors; details requirements for intruder movement detection indoors; and discusses passive, infrared, ultrasonic Doppler, and microwave radar detection methods. Several types of sensors; signaling and control devices; power supplies; and equipment to control access, personnel, and materials are considered. Finally, the text deals with the installation, operations, and maintenance of electronic surveillance systems. Numerous case histories, diagrams, checklists, and an index are provided.
