Awareness of the victim of crime as an integral part of the criminal justice situation is growing in Sweden, although the government as yet has not attacked the problem as a whole.
Abstract
This article comprises some brief remarks about decisions and statements concerning the situation of the victim made by, among others, the legislators in recent years. The greater part of the newsletter consists of a synopsis of a report of Victims of Violence and of Property Crimes recently published by the Swedish National Central Bureau of Statistics (SCB). The synopsis is now presented to an international audience with the backing of the SCB, which claims responsibility for its contents. (Author abstract)
